I guess you might be able to tell what distro I'm posting from. It's more than eye-candy, it's smooth and thorough and flexible and a pleasure to run, on a variety of hardware. #LINUX MINT LITE SOFTWARE#
Linux Lite is a Debian-based distro, built on the LTS (long-term support) release of Ubuntu, so you get excellent software and hardware compatibility out of the box. This is a very fast-growing segment right now, and it's about time. There are lighter distributions out there, but they're often not as user-friendly as Linux Lite. While they have plenty planned they want to 'prioritize some long-term aspects and dedicate some of our time to them' like updating their ISO production tools and fix secureboot. I feel the strength of the new, popular distros like Mint, as well as Ubuntu and PCLOS, is in their ease of adoption for the novice Linux user. Also the next main Linux Mint release 21.3 is planned for December, however they're likely to 'reduce the scope' of it.
